How Rad Academy works
Case-based radiology viva practice with an AI examiner — built to get FRCR trainees ready for the real 2B, and to evidence the work along the way.
Practise like the real viva
An AI examiner takes you through real DICOM cases the way a consultant would in the FRCR 2B.
AI examiner on real cases
Rexi, a streaming AI tutor, examines you on real cross-sectional and plain-film cases — asking, probing, and pushing on your reasoning rather than just showing answers.
The tutor drives the viewer
Instead of static screenshots, Rexi controls a full Cornerstone3D DICOM viewer for you — setting CT window presets, jumping to slices, marking findings, comparing slices, and switching to MPR — so teaching points land on the actual image.
Exam, tutor and other modes
Choose how you're examined: a timed, hint-free Exam mode that simulates the FRCR 2B viva, a Socratic Tutor mode with guidance, plus examiner personalities from supportive to rapid-fire.
Find the right case fast
Filter the case library by region, difficulty and modality (X-ray, CT, MR, ultrasound), or sort by what's recommended for your current level.
Learning that adapts to you
The app tracks how you perform and steers your practice toward what will move the needle.
Elo skill rating
Every candidate starts at 1000. Your rating rises and falls with your performance against case difficulty, giving you an honest, single-number read on where you stand — and powering 'recommended for you' case picks.
Spaced repetition
Cases you've seen resurface on an SM-2 spaced-repetition schedule, so they come back just before you'd forget them. Your dashboard shows exactly what's due.
Weakness analytics
Your scores are broken down by region and by skill domain — observation, interpretation, differential, management, communication. The app surfaces your weakest combinations and links straight to cases that target them.
Feedback that builds reasoning
Every session ends with structured feedback designed to close the gap, not just mark you.
Coverage & missed-pathology heatmap
We track which slices you actually looked at and for how long, then show a coverage heatmap that flags pathology-bearing slices you skipped or skimmed — so you can see the findings you missed and why.
Differential-tree generation
After a case, generate a structured differential tree: the correct diagnostic path, the differentials and how they're ruled out, and where your own reasoning had gaps.
Bookmarks
Flag any case as confident, needs-review or flagged, with a note, and pick it back up from your dashboard whenever you want.
Evidence your progress
Turn your practice into something you can show your educational supervisor.
Analytics dashboard
Track cases attempted, time invested, score trends over time, and your performance by domain and region — all in one place.
ARCP portfolio export
Export a dated PDF portfolio of your sessions and performance, ready to bring to your ARCP or training review as evidence of structured practice.
